mira and david castillo had no real plans when it came to a family or when they'd have it. they didn't have a lot of plans beyond the next wave and maybe mira getting a modeling job. it was actually just after mira booked a job with playboy that she found out she was pregnant. worried she wouldn't be able to work after having her child, she went through with the first and only real modeling opportunity she would have. david, on the other hand, wondered if maybe this was a sign, if maybe he needed to sit downa and get a real job, not just be a surfer who once in awhile did a commercial when the money got tight. when annabelle appeared, david had solidified a job with an agency in l.a. giving him enough money to support the family, while his wife stayed home to be a parent. mira, surprisingly, took to being a mom like a duck to water and relished in the new role. it wasn't long before she was making noise about wanting another child.

annabelle was three when jaxson came into the family. david was thrilled, he'd have a son to teach to surf, since so far annabelle seemed to hate the meer idea of being wet and dirty from salt and sand. jaxson, on the other hand, loved to splash around and be buried in the sand. the idea of putting either of their children in tv or movies didn't really appeal to david or mira, and when she welcomed their third child into the family it wasn't even a question. why do that to their child? it changed when jaxson was twelve and david took him to work with him. one of david's clients wasn't cooperating and the parents weren't helping. the director spotted the twelve year old little boy and asked if he had representation. when david stated jaxson was his son, the director replaced the crying actor with the novice twelve year old. it was all downhill from there.

Jax had a lot of fun, and over the next few years he had roles on various tv shows. It wasn't until he was cast on everwood as kyle hunter, that he was finally doing something more than a guest spot. it was from that role that he got the opportunity to get into movies with the starring role in john tucker must die a teen movie that was more fun and comedic than anything else, but it also gave him the chance to see if he preferred movies or television. at this point, being nineteen years old meant he had been working seven years and was still playing high school students, which he was told many times was completely normal. he had a young face and though he was muscular he was lean. after getting his role on the gates he decided he wanted to get out of the high school scene.

the year 2010 marked the last bit of high school student jax would be playing and his first role in a big budget movie. burlesque allowed jax to spread his wings a bit, and to show that he wasn't a teenager anymore. it was from that role, and then his stint on the short lived secret circle that he was getting some notice. he still wasn't a household name, and he wasn't sure he'd ever want to be. landing the role of oliver queen on the cw's new arrow. the role of superhero wasn't too far of a stretch from the supernatural shows he had been on in the past. the role that would turn his entire world upside down, however, was getting the role of four in the distopian saga divergent. it was during the filming of the first moving in the series that he began getting serious with his girlfriend at the time, serious enough that he planned on asking her to marry him, but she wasn't willing to deal with his living in canada for arrow and the press from divergent and broke up with him just before the movie premired.

jax comes back to santa monica as often as he can, finding the city he grew up in to be the most relaxing and down home place he can be. he loves that his sisters give him as much shit now as they ever did, that annabelle picks on him like any big sister would and that jessica likes to needle at him about his love life, or lack there of. he doesn't really know where his life is going, or if one day he will be tired of being an actor and want to just be a surfer, but for now he plans to live it up and enjoy the perks. he plans to see the world on his time off, to not worry about the cost of a plane ticket if it means a friend of family memember can travel with him.
